Call Centre Operator – Council – Immediate Start

Allstaff Australia is currently seeking 3 experienced Customer Service Operators for a 3 month assignment within a Local Council Call Centre.

The Role

  • Immediate Start
  • 3 month contract
  • Monday to Friday: for either am to 3.30pm or 10am to 5.30pm
  • Be the first point of contact for telephone and counter enquiries to Council, providing accurate advice on Council’s services, products and activities;
  • Communicate with customers via telephone and process service requests as required including handling complaints and directing to appropriate officer when required;
  • Providing a link between customers and Council;

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in, and commitment to, providing excellent customer service, including experience within a call centre;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to adapt in a constantly changing workplace;
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) and to empathise with customers and staff at all levels;
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact;
  • Experience in using the Microsoft suite of products including Outlook and Excel to a basic user level;
  • Ability to type 40 wpm with 95% accuracy and to compose original correspondence using professional language and correct grammar;
  • Ability to be highly organised and able to manage numerous tasks at once including accessing various information systems simultaneously;
  • Effective time management skills.
